Should a client request that N.B.P.I. travel any great distance or should N.B.P.I. require overnight accommodations, N.B.P.I. may have to decline the investigation due to financial cost. Should this happen, N.B.P.I. will to it’s very best to refer the case to a reputable group closer to your area. Please keep in mind that N.B.P.I. is a non profit, no fee group of volunteers that have their own personal expenses and family’s to look after. N.B.P.I. members fund this organization completely on their own.

Q – Can I as a client help defer some of the costs of travel in any way?

A- Any help in travel costs or accommodations from the client would be considered helpful and may be discussed during the initial interviews.

Q – What services does N.B.P.I. provide?

A – N.B.P.I. can offer consultation and advice on dealing with paranormal activity based on their personal experiences and knowledge gained through past investigations. N.B.P.I. members do not claim to be experts in this field. We are everyday hardworking people like you trying to find answers. We are amateur investigators, as we believe that there are no specific experts in the field of Paranormal Investigations. We do believe that there many serious well knowledgeable and experienced investigators out there and it is these serious dedicated people who we as amateur investigators often turn to for advice, and we will then pass this information on to you.

Q – Can N.B.P.I. perform “Cleansings, Clearings, or exorcisms”?

A- No, N.B.P.I. does not provide these services. Services such as these are very ritualistic and religious based ceremonies with no factual basis of success. N.B.P.I. does not feel comfortable in offering these services, or even recommending anyone to perform these services as a satisfactory outcome cannot be guaranteed. If requested, N.B.P.I. may provide literature or web links on these subjects, and the client can make there own determination and contacts if needed.

Q – Are any members of N.B.P.I. Psychics, Mediums, sensitive etc?

A – Two of  N.B.P.I. members claim to have these skills and have proven to be quite accurate on previous investigations. Due to the fact that it is very hard to prove the legitimacy of fact with regards to people claiming these skills, N.B.P.I will not offer their findings as proof positive of a ghost or spirit, but more as an investigative tool to help with the investigation. You can see them in action, take from them what you will and believe or disbelieve what you want. This is all part of the process.

Q – What can I expect when I contact N.B.P.I. for help with paranormal activity?

A – Once contact has been made with N.B.P.I. asking for help. N.B.P.I. will ask for a detailed written letter or email describing the activity encountered. After reviewing the case, a member of N.B.P.I. will contact you and arrange for a consultation either by phone or in person. Several consultations may be required before determining if an actual on site investigation will occur. Once it is determined that an investigation in warranted, N.B.P.I. will require the client to sign some release documents allowing an investigation to be completed. Some legal obligations must be considered and agreed to by the client prior to any investigation being commenced and completed. N.B.P.I. members will then arrive at the location and begin setting up equipment throughout the location. Once the investigation is complete, N.B.P.I. members will examine all the evidence acquired during the investigation, and then report back to the client as soon as possible with a report of their findings.

Q – What type of equipment does N.B.P.I. use during an investigation?

A – N.B.P.I. uses a variety of equipment like hand held audio recorders, wireless audio recorders, wired video cameras, wireless video cameras, handheld video cameras, digital cameras, film cameras, etc.

Q – How long does an investigation take to complete?

A – This is hard to nail down to a specific time, but most investigations can be completed in 4-6hrs and are normally conducted during the suggested peak paranormal hours between 9pm & 4am. Some follow up investigations may be required.

Q – I have children and pets, is this going to be a problem during and investigation?

A – Although the preferred investigation will be completed with only the members of N.B.P.I., and one or two adult representatives of the client, we understand that this is not always possible. During the initial interview and consultation these situations can be discussed and addressed at that time.

Q – Are my neighbours going to know what you are doing?

A – Only if you tell them. N.B.P.I. members come in unmarked vehicles. Some members may be wearing an N.B.P.I. nylon jacket with N.B.P.I. letters on the front, but nothing explaining what those letters stand for. N.B.P.I. takes privacy very seriously as stated in our code of conduct/ethics policy. We do however suggest that you make your neighbours aware that you are having people over to do some work through the evening and night. The investigation takes place with all the lights out on the property, as so our night vision equipment will work properly. Some neighbours may become worried with strangers lurking around your property in the dark and notify the authorities of possible criminal activity. Should the authorities arrive on site, N.B.P.I. will be nothing but absolutely truthful as to what we are doing there and this is when we would provide them with a signed release form giving us permission to be on the property. This is another reason why we prefer that at least one representative of the client remain with N.B.P.I. during and investigation.

Q – Is there anything else I should know before contacting N.B.P.I. for an investigation?

A – N.B.P.I. will do everything possible to ensure that your experience with us is a favourably one. N.B.P.I. cannot and will not guarantee results in any investigation because of the uncertainty of the field. Paranormal activity does not act on cue; therefore N.B.P.I. may not experience anything that the client reports to have happened in the past. This does not mean that N.B.P.I. disbelieves the client, but N.B.P.I. can only base their conclusions on their own findings at the time. This is why N.B.P.I. may recommend follow up investigations. N.B.P.I. must take any and all precautions to ensure the safety of its members during an investigation. N.B.P.I. asks that clients make sure that the entire premises to be investigated be structurally safe and secure for all N.B.P.I. members. The premises must be free from any hazardous materials which could cause injury to N.B.P.I. members. All walking pathways, corridors etc must be free and clear of any obstructions, and any areas which could cause any injury to N.B.P.I. members must be shown to all N.B.P.I. members and cordoned off for safety reasons. A thorough walkthrough of the premises during daylight hours must be allowed by the client. N.B.P.I. can and will terminate an investigation at any time it feels necessary to ensure the safety of its members. Although N.B.P.I. takes the privacy of its clients very seriously, N.B.P.I. also has the greatest respect for the law. N.B.P.I. may terminate any investigation and its relationship with the client if any criminal activity is encountered in relation to the client or premises being investigated. N.B.P.I. may report any criminal activity to the appropriate authorities should it be deemed necessary. We ask any perspective client to keep this in mind before contacting N.B.P.I..
